It All Started in 1973
Back in 1973, Peter and Anne Hyde opened the doors to Diss Ironworks in Norfolk House Yard, Diss.
Originally specialising in bespoke ironmongery and handcrafted hearth furniture, the business quickly earned a reputation for quality craftsmanship, honest advice and exceptional customer service.
At a time when independent family businesses formed the heart of local communities, Diss Ironworks became a trusted name across Norfolk and Suffolk, helping customers find products that were built to last.
Those same values continue to shape the business today.
Growing With Our Customers
As homeowners' needs evolved, so did Diss Ironworks.
Over the following decades, the business expanded into neighbouring premises on St Nicholas Street and Cobbs Yard, allowing the showroom to grow alongside its product offering.
From traditional fireplaces and wood-burning stoves to specialist cooking appliances, Diss Ironworks became known for supplying products that combined beautiful design with outstanding performance.
More importantly, every recommendation was based on experience rather than sales targets, something customers continue to value today.
A New Generation
In 2011, the business entered an exciting new chapter.
Matthew Hyde, alongside his wife Hannah, took over the family business with a clear vision: to preserve everything customers already loved about Diss Ironworks whilst investing in its future.
Rather than changing the company's values, they built upon them.
The showroom expanded.
New premium brands were introduced.
The website grew.
The customer experience evolved.
But the philosophy remained the same:

For us, the relationship shouldn't end once a cooker has been delivered and installed. Range Care Co. is another way we're continuing to offer the same expertise, personal service and attention to detail that have been at the heart of Diss Ironworks for over 50 years.
